Maggie Walker was born on Earth Day April 22nd, in the Midwestern United States.

Reliable, practical, creative, and fiercely loyal, she brings these qualities into every aspect of her life. A devoted mother of two, she now calls Rotterdam home.

In her early twenties, Maggie experienced a profound loss when her mother passed away from brain cancer. Caring for her alongside Hospice deeply impacted her, planting the seed for a future dedicated to service.

Years later, after moving to Maui, Hawaii—where she spent nearly 15 years—Maggie embraced a new chapter. She got married, welcomed her two children, and found her true calling: becoming a Doula, inspired by the care and compassion that once guided her through grief.

The word “doula” comes from ancient Greek, meaning “woman's servant.”

Philosophy

Maggie believes that birth is a sacred and transformative experience, one that deserves to be met with respect, trust, and unwavering support. She honors each family’s unique journey, recognizing that birth is not a one-size-fits-all experience.

Her approach is rooted in informed choice, bodily autonomy, and the belief that every birthing person deserves to feel empowered in their decisions. She integrates traditional wisdom with evidence-based practices, providing holistic, intuitive, and compassionate care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

Above all, Maggie strives to create a safe, nurturing, and loving space where parents feel seen, heard, and supported—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
